This is a seconds because the background is slightly pale blue in places rather than the usual crisp white. The Cyanotype design is a strong defined blue though. (Please note the seconds isn't pictured.)

The old photographic process of Cyanotype was invented by Sir John Herschel in 1841. A light sensitive solution is applied to paper, objects or negatives layered on then exposed to sunlight, the solution is then rinsed off in water and the paper dried, fixing the image in glorious blue tones.
Please note the outside of the vase is paper so preferably just for display of dried seed heads/ flowers or fairy lights inside. Battery powered fairy lights (as pictured) work well. I use rechargeable batteries. The inside is glass so water can be used for fresh flowers if very careful when rinsing out not to splash the outside.
